Oh baby, oh baby

Guess what I get to make this week?
Megan’s PB Cake!

Look at that?? Doesn’t it make you drool a little bit? An old coworker asked me to do this cake for her birthday and I was more then happy to oblige.

For the cottage weekend I’m also bringing up chocolate chip cookies & oatmeal and raisin cookies. If time permits, I would also like to get some royal icing mixed up to decorate these babies and make some googly eyes.

Practicing for Movember

It smells like fall

Oh boy, oh boy.

I can’t wait to start baking with pumpkins and apples!

Happy dance

Also… I’ve decided to make a version of Ah, Caramels! I haven’t come across a recipe yet  but I feel I could figure it out.

Summer fruit and peach coffee cake

I love cooking with fresh fruit and I never get around to it.

Strawberries, blueberries and lemon I have tons of recipes to do but I don’t want to be stuck inside glued to the oven.

Fall Fruit… I have that down. Apples and Pumpkins are my favourite!

I had some peaches in the fridge that were going to go unless I made something so once again Brown Eyed Baker to the rescue.

I’ve wanted to make these cupcakes all summer but I didn’t have that many peaches so I picked this yummy one.

The only change I did was swap out the sour cream for greek yogurt  but next time I made it I would swap out some of the white flour for whole wheat and add in some ground flax seed.

It is a perfect treat for this early September day before I get wrapped up in my mess of pumpkin treats to make!

Anyone coming over for coffee?

It is official. I have a cake wreck.

I’m sure you know all about Cake Wrecks. Now I have my own, unfortunately I can’t submit it to the website because it was a cake I made for my youngest sister’s birthday.

This is what she asked for:  Back in February! So when her birthday rolled around two weeks ago I felt the pressure to actually produce it. Let me tell you that August has not been a good month for me, I had a minor procedure the Wednesday and I was leaving for Toronto 7 am Friday morning. I was unprepared. Thursday I decided to throw the cake together.

I know, I know.

Bad idea.

A good friend of mine baked the cake and when I got home from work late Thursday I went to work.

It was downhill from there… I mixed too much chocolate into the white fondant and ended up with what I would like to call the poo cake.
Here it is Internet– probably forever. My poor sister’s cake wreck.

Funny thing is, my other sister pointed out that I never made her a cake so I know what I’l be up to in early March. Maybe I should start  planning now, that way I won’t have an excuse.

Anyways… the actual cake tasted good. White cake with lemon curd and lemon buttercream (the buttercream was the best part).
